AGRICULTURAL ECONOMICS HIRES TWO FACULTY MEMBERS
The Department of Agricultural Economics at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln welcomes two new faculty members, Dr. Fabio Mattos and Dr. Kate Brooks.
Dr. Mattos has a research and teaching appointment and will focus on marketing and risk management. He will teach undergraduate agricultural marketing and risk management courses. Before joining UNL, Dr. Mattos was at the University of Manitoba where his research work included price analysis, marketing, and futures and options markets. He received his Ph.D. from the University of Illinois and M.S. and B.A. degrees from the University of São Paulo.
Dr. Brooks is a livestock marketing specialist and has a research and extension appointment. She comes to UNL from West Texas A&M University where her research focused on livestock production economics, consumer preferences, and experimental economics. Dr. Brooks obtained her Ph.D. at Oklahoma State University, her M.S. at Illinois State University and her B.S. at Kansas State University.
Dr. Mattos and Dr. Brooks are part of a three-person risk management cluster, which will also include a grain, oilseed, and biofuels economist.
