Rim Lassoued. Market and Welfare Effects of the Introduction of Second- Generation, Consumer-Oriented Genetically Modified Products in the European Union. M.Sc. thesis completed at MAICh in July 2008 (Advisor). Rim is currently a Ph.D. student at the University of Saskatchewan.

Alejandro Plastina. Essays on Innovations in the Agriculture and Food Industry Sectors. Ph.D. dissertation defended in May 2007 (Co-Advisor). While at UNL, Alejandro received the J.J. and Eleanor Ogle Fellowship for Outstanding Scholastic Performance (2006); the J.B. Hassler Research Award (2006); the Filley-Garey Fellowship for Outstanding Performance as a Ph.D. Student (2005); the Frank & Marie Wheeler Fellowship for Outstanding Scholastic Performance as a Graduate Student Scholar (2005); a Citation of Merit for Outstanding Performance as a Ph.D. Student (2005); the Mabel J. Reichenbach Fellowship for Outstanding Scholastic Performance as a Graduate Student Scholar (2004); and the William Tomek Fellowship for Outstanding Graduate Student (2004). Alejandro is currently an Economist with the International Cotton Advisory Committee in Washington D.C.

Kyriakos Drivas. The Effect of Cooperatives on Innovation. M.Sc. thesis defended in May 2006 (Advisor). While at UNL, Kyriakos received the J.B. Hassler Research Award (2007); the Outstanding Master Student Award (2005); the Farm Credit Services Fellowship (2005); and a Cooper-Sharpless Fellowship (2004). Kyriakos is currently a Ph.D. candidate at the University of California, Berkeley.

Luc Veyssiere. Strategic Labeling and Trade of GMOs. M.Sc. thesis defended in July 2004 (Advisor). While at UNL, Luc received the J.B. Hassler Research Award (2004), and a Citation of Merit for Outstanding Performance as an M.Sc. Student (2004). Luc received a Ph.D. from Iowa State University and is currently a Lead Economist with ECOPA in France.

Kenneth Njoroge. Two Essays on Mandatory Price Reporting and Collusion. M.Sc. thesis defended in August 2003 (Co-advisor). While at UNL, Kenneth received the J.B. Hassler Research Award (2003); a Citation of Merit for Outstanding Performance as an M.Sc. Student (2003); and the Agricultural & Food Industrial Organization Outstanding Research Creativity Award (2003). Kenneth received a Ph.D. from Duke University and is currently an Assistant Professor, Lundquist College of Business, University of Oregon.

Alejandro Onofri. Essays on Growth of the Agriculture and Food Industry Sectors. Ph.D. dissertation defended in April 2002 (Co-advisor). While at UNL, Alejandro received the J.B. Hassler Research Award (2002); a Citation of Merit for Outstanding Performance as a Ph.D. Student (2002); and the Widaman Trust Distinguished Graduate Assistant Award (2001). Alejandro is currently Titular Professor of Agricultural Policy, Faculty of Agronomy, Universidad Nacional del Centro de la Provincia de Buenos Aires, and Adjunct Professor of Microeconomics, Faculty of Economic Sciences, Universidad de La Plata, Argentina.
